Early Years

In the Early Years we provide a safe and nurturing setting where every child is encouraged to be unique, respectful and reach their full potential. The Early Years are vitally important and we aim to develop a sense of wonder and growing independence in every child.

Our enquiry-led, play-based curriculum provides children with the opportunity to take risks, inquire and be creative, develop their skills and apply these across tasks and activities. We encourage children to be independent and to work together to become lifelong learners. We teach them about their responsibilities to the community and the importance of caring for their environment. Literacy and Numeracy skills are introduced and reinforced to ensure they are fully prepared for Key Stage One. Students are assessed regularly using a combination of informal and formal observations and the EYFS criteria to measure their progress. These assessments are ongoing throughout this phase.

Primary

In the Primary section, each class teacher delivers the 3 core Cambridge subjects as well as the IPC subjects, and specialist teachers deliver Music, Art and Physical Education.

Key Stage 1 covers Year 1 & 2, and builds on the foundation laid in Early Years. Students' independent reading and writing is developed in this phase.

Key Stage 2 covers Year 3 - 6, and consolidates and extends the Cambridge primary curriculum concepts. Year 6 marks the end of the Cambridge Primary curriculum.

We follow the Cambridge Curriculum for: Maths, English and Science, and use the IPC (International Primary Curriculum) for the enrichment subjects: History, Geography, Art, Music, International, Physical Education, ICT & Computing and Society. We link between subjects wherever possible to our topics.

We have blended these 2 curricula to enable our students to relate to the world around them through independence, empathy for others and a positive ethos to learning in order to fulfill their potential.
